Our church parish is in trouble. Over the past 8 years, we've lost most of our membership. There are many things that have contributed to this.
A couple of weeks ago, we added a prayer for our parish. I'm wondering if I'm taking this text wrong, so I ask you instead, what does this prayer say to you?
"Almighty and everliving God, ruler of all things in heaven and earth, hear our prayer for this parish family. Strengthen the faithful, arouse the careless, and restore the penitent. Grant us all things necessary for our common life, and bring us all to be of one heart and mind within your holy church; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen."
